Muriel Missirlou and JM,
an eclectic duo

blending electronic and acoustic sounds
- guitar, vocals and percussion -
reinterpret pop melodies
in French, English, Yiddish
and other languages.
The Jena
Declaration
Works primarily on canvas, using acrylic and charcoal, as well as on paper. Moving between intense colour and monochrome, drawing remains at the heart of her practice.

In recent years, contemporary reality and the experience of war have entered her work, giving rise to psychological and amorphous signs in which figures sometimes emerge.

Originally trained in design at the WIZO Academic Center in Haifa, she turned to art and studied with Yaacov Mishori (2000–2005), and later with artist Avi Sabah. Her exhibitions include presentations at the Artists’ House in Tel Aviv, the Performing Arts Center, and the Hamburg Painting Biennale.

— personal and collective —
through current events,
with what seems to continue burning beneath the surface.

Moving between figuration and abstraction,
her work bears witness to trauma and war,
giving voice to the unconscious.
