Mémoire de l'Avenir wishes to carry out a large-scale project: to retrace the history of humanity through museums.
It is a question of itineraries which are articulated on the themes of research and action which are dear to our hearts: otherness and difference, the fight against prejudices, stereotypes and discriminations, but also diversity and living together.
In this way, the museum fulfills its educational function, becoming a facilitator of social ties, and the essential actor in a policy of diversity and living together.
Art and culture offer a reflection of society; they are the tangible emanations, the manifestations of contexts, of periods, bringing to light profound questions. As representations, they question reality and appearances, solicit perception. As such, they can be used as tools for dialogue, debate, and critical questioning. They have the capacity to question and defuse prejudices, stereotypes and discrimination of all kinds. This work also allows them to examine and question information and current events, particularly those conveyed by the media. Through a collective encounter, art and culture bring people together and promote the construction of a common culture and social cohesion: it is a question of making knowledge a place of sharing, a place where people enjoy learning and sharing their knowledge.
Also, in order to develop the familiarity of museum-goers, it is necessary to develop a pedagogy that meets their needs.
Mediation is based on a participatory, intuitive, sensitive and sensory approach. It aims to make the participants autonomous in the museum space. The mediation accompanies each participant in his or her perception and understanding of the work, allows each participant to express him or herself, and to collectively build knowledge and understanding.
Also, this approach to heritage and culture offers spaces for expression and dialogue in which participants are led to build knowledge together, individually and collectively. The reflective journey within this space of dialogue is both individual and collective. Everyone can have the right to live in respect of their diverse identities, and to be able to realize their full potential.
